The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal program that helps low-income people and families buy food. The goal is to make it easier for families to eat healthy meals and access nutritious foods.

In Florida, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) manages SNAP. Many Floridians rely on these benefits, and to receive them, you must meet certain eligibility rules.

While the federal government sets the main guidelines, each state can decide some details, like how benefits are distributed. Florida follows its own system for when SNAP payments are sent out each month.

What Can’t You Buy With SNAP?
